Abstract

Mysticism is the area of life-long interest to Yeats, and is the base of his foundation of creative philosophical system of the World Soul and Anima Mundi. Among rituals and exercises of Mysticism, Akasa or Astral Light, which Yeats has access to through Blavatsky’s experience and which he understands logically through Hartmann’s texts, is one of his major sources for knowledge about the World Soul. It is a concept of a vital and ethereal substance which pervades the whole cosmos. Yeats uses it as a medium which can help man communicate with the invisible memory.
