The Double Perspective in W. B. Yeats’s Poetry
Abstract
In his own way W. B. Yeats has made every effort to solve the problemsof internal struggles toward self-perfection. Facing his own conflicts and struggles heis divided and struggles to unify them. He is a many-sided person: a nationalist,poet, playwright, mystic, and politician. It will help to understand his work better ifwe could understand these aspects of his. This paper aims at studying ‘the doubleperspective’ of his. It will analyze the uses of “but” and “half” in his poems.
예이츠 시에 나타난 두 겹의 시각
초록
예이츠는 내적 갈등을 겪으면서 자신의 방식으로 자기완성을 위하여 백방으로 노력한 작가이다. 그는 일생동안 당면한 문제에 내적 갈등을 겪으면서 분열하면서 통합하려고 모색했다. 그는 시인, 극작가, 민족주의자, 신비주의자, 정치인 등 다면적인 인물이다. 그가 취한 분열된 경계적이고 양가적인 입장을 이해하는 것은 그의작품을 더 잘 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 본 논문은 그의 시에서 ‘but’과 ’half‘가맥락에서 ‘두 겹의 시각’으로 어떻게 나타나는지 알아볼 것이다.
